	Dec 3, 2008 ... Our circle of friends has become smaller today with the loss of fellow rescuer, Courtney Dickson. Courtney leaves behind a young son and husband, loving family and many friends. I first met Courtney in 2004 when she contacted Shadow Cats about the cats in her neighborhood. I went to her home and she showed me a number of cats that looked to be pregnant and completely wild. We talked at length and then spent the next several months trapping and sterilizing the cats and getting things under control. She was so happy to know about TNR and happier still to know that she was making a positive impact on the lives of homeless cats. She continued to the end of her life to support feral and homeless cat issues. She found many a home for kittens born to feral and outdoor cats and helped to stop the cycle of reproduction through spay and neuter and humane education. She was a vibrant, compassionate and outgoing person who did not know the meaning of looking away or turning her back on anyone or anything in need. I look back tonight at a letter Courtney wrote several years ago to me and her words sum up her devotion to the animals. 	A donation has been made in Ellis Clay's name and memory by India Vance. Ms. Ellis was a avid animal lover and cared deeply about feral/stray cat issues. She believed Shadow Cats was a worthy organization and bequeathed an amount to be used for the health and welfare of feral cats or cats in need. She touched many lives both human and feline and is greatly missed by her family and friends.

A caring donation has been made in memory of Gene Barr by Roslyn and Paul Lamoureux of Wallingford , CT. Mr. Barr passed away on January 21,2008. According to friends and family, Mr. Barr was charismatic, charming & always a true gentleman. He was born in 1909 and had lived in Austin since 1992.
