I just wanted to drop you a note to say how wonderful I think your sanctuary is! I first heard of Shadow Cats in the Cat Fancy magazine, and that led me to your website. I look forward to coming back during day hours to watch the cats in Cookies Place. I only hope there are other places like yours that ensure that our beautiful feline fur friends get all the love and care they deserve. Thank you for your TNR efforts as well. God Bless you and all of your volunteers!!
Sincerely,
--A Michigan Catlady

My 15-month old has really enjoyed watching Venus playing - she giggles and meows at the screen and asks to watch it again! I enjoy watching her too; your choice of music is perfect!

Shadow Cats Sanctuary looks like a wonderful place staffed by people with big hearts; I'm so glad to see that even the kitties who test positive for Feline Leukemia have a happy and comfortable place to call their own - thank you!

I just want to thank you for the absolutely wonderful video A Day in the Life of TNR! I'm sharing it on Facebook so more people will see it. Our organization in Westminster, CO, Feline Alliance, is part of a Feral Cat Coalition here in Denver. I wish I could hand this video out to some people in neighborhoods with so many feral cats!

I saw the article in this months Cat Fancy magazine and have been glued to your website reading all the cats bios and stories and watching the videos. I have 4 cats myself and have never been so moved by an organization as I am with yours. I would like to do something for the cats but I can\'t help financially but I would like to make some toys and maybe crochet a blanket for them if this is okay. I am disabled and things take me a while to accomplish but if a crocheted blanket or crocheted cat bed would work for
your organization I think I can do that. Please write back when you have time. p.s. when I adopted my first two cats I thought they couldn't walk as there legs were injured and I didn't want the humane society to put them down. About 2 weeks after I had them they were running (boy was that a happy surprise for me and them). My 3rd kitty was turned into the humane society as a stray and was pretty ruffed up and my 4th cat was a year old and he was nearing the shelters limit on keeping him up for adoption. I treasure every moment with them and they are living the good life (mostly in my lap). (try fitting 4 cats on the recliner with you, I do it every day and love it).CatMomx4

Thanks so much for all you have done, seriously I had contacted every other feral group I could find begging for any kind of help and until I got hold of you I was becoming despondent and hopeless. I really
like all these little kitties so very much and just want them to be well, I actually enjoy our morning ritual of them meeting me at my door and walking with me to where I feed them and I must look a crazy man chatting to them all while I put down food and water for so many mewling little cats. This is why I do it in the dead of morning :-)  Anyway, your help means so very much to me that you have provided and
I thank you for your efforts so much as I really have hope now we can get these kitties under control and have a manageable little group.

I just love my feral cats. I was really at my wits end on how I was going to stop this problem and just happen to find your organization on the internet. I call Angela and Mindy my angels. I was so worried the feral cats would keep breeding and I would eventually not be able to feed all of them. They were a true blessing to me. I want all people to know that we do care about feral cats and they should be taken care of. It was not their fault they are homeless. Thank you so very much. Angela and Mindy are the two nicest girls. I will always keep in touch with them. Keep up the great work ya'll do. -

I just want to put in writing how grateful I am for the help that Shadow Cats gave me with the feral cats my elderly mother in Round Rock was caring for. When she fell and was transferred to a nursing facility, Sheila helped me capture and arranged transportation of the cats all the way to Houston to a new home. Without the help of organizations like this I don\'t know what I would have done. Their unselfish service to animals in need is much appreciated.

I was impressed and relieved to receive services for a feral cat I was trying to spay and help feed in my neighborhood.  She became pregnant before I could trap her, so I was hoping to avoid the situation again.  Thanks for providing this assistance in caring for her.

I just wanted to thank your organization for the wonderful job they did taking care of the feral cat and kittens that we found in our backyard shed.  Dawn was such a wonderful lady to come out several times to try to trap the cats.  We totally appreciate your organization and what it does for our community.  I am trying to educate neighbors about your organization. God bless you and Dawn for providing this service.  Dawn was very professional and kind every time she was out here.

Thank you for your quick and informative response.  I was able to reach Molly who came over with 6 traps last evening.  Three adults and three kittens were caught between 10pm and 1am.  They are all currently at the Austin Humane Society, getting ready for their surgeries.

...thank you for having put together a web page filled with information about how to handle stray cats  humanely.  Kudos to all who have the passion and patience to make this community a better place.

"...I felt like I was up against a brick wall. Too many outside cats and I didn’t know how to help them and then my vet told me about Shadow Cats. Your volunteers came out and helped us get everyone spayed. Now months later, all the cats are fixed and me and my neighbors are much happier. You all made a difference in our neighborhood and we can not say enough about all the good Shadow Cats does for the cats and for us too..."

Shadow Cats is a well-organized, proactive organization that spays and neuters feral and stray cats in order to humanely reduce outdoor cat populations. Volunteers dedicate their time and energy to make a difference, not only in the lives of these cats, but in their communities, as well.

These folks are tireless in their efforts to give feral cats a chance for survival though their Trap, Neuter, and Return program. They provide medical care for injured ferals. They provide food for feral colonies. The work they do for the ferals comes from their hearts. I have supported them for years, and will continue to do so. They receive no compensation from the government, but yet they perform a service valuable to us all, as well as the ferals. They have a commitment to the community that too often goes unnoticed.

I cannot thank them enough for their commitment to making life a little better for the ferals and abandoned animals that too often humans discard because they become an "inconvenience". I highly recommend supporting these folks, even if not financially, at least a "thank you". Their hearts are as big as our State, perhaps even bigger.

I became aware of your organization recently and enlisted help to care for a little colony of feral cats who have lived in my neighborhood for several years. Over the years the group has grown and two of them “adopted me” last fall. These two starving, bedraggled little animals clearly needed help, and I knew it would only be a matter of time and the group would be growing again.  In researching what to I could for feral cats in the area I called the Williamson County Humane Society to ask about possibly borrowing the humane traps to take these guys to my personal vet for care. I was told they couldn’t lend traps for such a purpose, but that I should contact an organization called Shadow Cats, who dealt with this type of situation.

This group was exactly what I needed! Their volunteer came out to my house and in one evening we had all four cats in traps and on their way to the Austin shelter where they were to receive free neutering and shots. It turned out we had three males and one pregnant, and still in heat, female to treat. The little female went for care at the Central Texas Cat Hospital and was taken care of there for several days before she came home. The males were back home within 24 hours and I can report today that everybody is doing well. Thriving. I owe this fact to the wonderful help and care they received from the Shadow Cats organization.

I cannot stress enough what a blessing Shadow Cats has been to us in this neighborhood. Thanks to them I know these cats have a fighting chance at health and most importantly, we will have no more unwanted litters to starve to death fending for themselves.  Thank you, thank you!

Thank you for the good work you do on behalf of the many stray and abandoned cats that roam our community.  You are truly a gift to us and your efforts are deeply appreciated.  I have a shelter kitty myself and although a bit challenging some days, I like to think it is his 'wild' heritage. When I think of him as a baby cuddling with his littermates, oblivious to what his future would be without the kindness of strangers, it makes me even more grateful for what you folks do.  Keep up the good work!

I want to thank you for intervening in the situation with the cats. Months ago when we were approached by Shadow Cats we knew we had a feral cat problem. We had tried to intervene with food and were trying to find homes for what kittens we could catch, etc., but we were rank amateurs! The logic of the Shadow Cats plan was new to us but it made sense even to the "non-animal lovers", in fact, it was nearly too good to be true.

Since that time Shadow Cats has neutered approximately 50 cats and spent countless hours at the church. It has been a win/win situation; cats finally fed and cared for and our feral problem coming to a close by taking care of them, not attempting (an attempt that doesn't work) to eliminate them. It's also been a good example of the goodness of people for our parents and children to see! Your intervention is also an example of the goodness of people.

I wanted to say "thank you" to Shadow Cats and Dawn for helping us get a feral mama cat spayed and re-released and two baby kittens re-homed. I am so grateful for your feral cat program and the help received for our little shadowy friends!

I am writing to tell you about the amazing efforts of the organization Shadow Cats & the much appreciated assistance they gave me in dealing with the spay / neuter of two cats who had shown up at my doorstep. The ladies I dealt with were compassionate, informative & professional. They worked as a well oiled machine & easily put to rest any fears I had about the procedures & the way the whole thing would work in general. I believe in what they do, as it is obviously better to fix these animals than to end up with more unwanted kittens who would only end up in shelters.

This organization provides a valuable & much needed service to our area, I can't imagine what I would have done without their help. Though I would have been willing to try to take care of the animals myself it was so much better to have help from people who knew what they were doing, especially since I have disability & handling the situation myself would have been quite difficult. The caring people have my thanks, they were kind to the cats & to me. Volunteering to help the community the way they do should be applauded.

I am writing this note to tell you how much I appreciate the help you gave us to humanely solve our cat population problem.

A family of stray cats moved into our yard during a scorching summer two years ago.  Not actually intending to adopt them, my wife Loraine put out water to relieve their thirst.  And of course later fed them.  Well, two of them were female and very soon produced kittens, giving a total of 14 animals to care for.

Luckily, a friend gave us your telephone number, and you graciously explained how to tame the kittens so as to make it easier to place them for adoption.  And you went further, helping me to trap the adults (two of which were ferals), and get them neutered.  I should also mention that your Shadow Cats organization helped us by taking the 10 kittens for veterinary exams before we tried to place them in adoptive homes.

I can't thank you enough!  We still have the original four adults. One, named Boots, is a real pet.  The other three are loyal boarders in our back yard.
