I Have Lost My Cat! Can You Help Me?
Losing a companion is devastating. Even if the cat is indoor/outdoor.
Try the following:
- Post flyers in neighborhood and veterinary clinics
- Contact Animal Control. In Round Rock that number is 255-7387
- Contact area shelters. Physically go look at the cats there. Do not take someone’s word your cat is not there.
- Physically look under sheds, decks, etc. Cats are usually on one side of your home or the other. They don't always come when you call. YOU need to find THEM!
- Keep water and food outside for them
- Sprinkle the contents of their litter pan in the yard so they can pick up their scent. Leave some of their bedding or your own clothes where he may find them.
- Set a trap for him. He will be scared and may not come to you.
- Place an ad in the paper. Also, post to the Handbill with your contact info/description of cat/location where he was lost to handbill@hotmail.com
- Have the local neighborhood kids look for him. Give them a Reward. (tell them to tell you if they see the cat but not to touch it)
- Check out these sites for more information.
