Our mission’s focus is on feral and un-owned
cats. We do not take in cats from the public.
Our goal is to trap, sterilize and release feral
cats and to care for the cats already under our
care.
Here are some options:
There are not enough homes for all the cats we
come across. Therefore, the best chance for your
cat is to remain with you. However, if that is
not possible, consider these options:
Ask friends and neighbors if they can help you.
Contact your own veterinarian. Many times they
will allow you to bring your cat and house it in
their reception area for adoption if you are
willing to care for it on a daily basis.
Post flyers at area veterinary clinics. Always
remember to ask for an adoption fee and screen
all applicants.
Austin Pets Alive! -
Post your story on the Austin Pets Alive!
No-Kill Handbill. This online newsletter has a
readership of about 1,000 people in the central
Texas area---most of which are in rescue. You
can also subscribe to the newsletter at this
address.
Place an ad in your local newspaper or on
Craig’s List. Ask for a
donation of at least $25. Many “free to good
home” animals end up in research, as dog bait,
or other terrible situations. Protect the animal
by asking for an adoption fee and screening the
prospective adopter. You can also recoup any
money you spend on the animal with an adoption
fee. Screen the applicant thoroughly. There are
many unsavory people that seek out animals
specifically to do them harm.

They will not usually take cats over 7 years old
or un-owned cats. You may ask to be placed on a
waiting list if there is one. Expect to make a
donation.
