There was a huge turnout of TNR supporters from across central Texas - standing room only! Even Mayor Cowman was impressed and took a photo (top) of the auditorium as the meeting began. We estimate about 75-80 supporters were in attendance.

We had wonderful speakers who made heartfelt and reasoned points. After a few questions from council members, the Leander City Council unanimously voted for the TNR ordinance!

This was a huge victory for the community cats in Leander---even though they didn’t know it! Thank you to everyone that took time out of their busy lives to attend the council meeting and show your support for this important ordinance. You are ALL amazing!! This was a group effort and we could not have done this without you. Any opposition was made reticent by the overwhelming TNR support.

We would like to thank the Council appointed Task Force who explored the issue in depth and reported back to the full Council.

Special thanks to Mayor Cowman, Mayor Pro-Tem Christopher Fielder, Councilmembers Andrea Navarrette, Kirsten Lynch, Carl Wake, Michell Cantwell, David Siebold, and City Manager Anthony Johnson for their support of TNR in Leander. Their vote shows a community focused on compassion---not killing.
