Walter                            Born 9/25/05

Walter was originally placed by a county shelter into a local barn colony, but he just wasn’t cut out for the feral life. Lucky for him the barn owners knew about Shadow Cats, and he came to live with us at the sanctuary. Walter really likes the fresh air, outdoorsy feeling, and privacy of the Outback. There are lots of places that he can get away from it all – ledges, high decks, and cubbyholes – and most of the time that seems to suit him very well. Lately, though, he’s been experimenting with allowing himself to be petted a bit occasionally.
 

Instead of having to fend for himself in the wild, Walter can just focus on enjoying the good things in life. Sanctuary workers and volunteers take care of everything else – he’ll always have a safe, clean environment, any medical care that he may need, and as much or as little attention as he desires. At the sanctuary there’s a place for every cat, no matter what they want, to be able to live the life they deserve on their own terms.
