I have a sponsor!
When I saw a picture of Vienna, I knew
immediately that I had to sponsor her. Not only
do I have a kitty named Vienna, but my Vienna
looks just like just like Shadow Cat's Vienna.
I'm positive that this was a sign for me to
sponsor sweet Vienna. Also, after reading about
Vienna's experience of being a GKR kitty, I knew
I had get involved any way I could. I only
wished I lived closer, so that I could come
visit Vienna. Thanks for all you do, Shadow
Cats!!!

Vienna
Born 12/13/06
Most of the feline leukemia cats live in
Cookie's Place, the KittyCam room, where they also have access to an
outdoor enclosure. A few live in the
bedroom/sunroom area, where it’s quieter and has
fewer occupants. This is usually the place for
cats who are very shy, or have a tendency to get
picked on by others.
That pretty much
describes Vienna – she’s more into yoga and
meditation, as opposed to some of the others who
seem to lean more towards rugby and kung fu. She
came to Shadow Cats as part of the Great Kitty
Rescue in Pahrump, Nevada through the Best
Friends organization. Vienna is very petite, but
healthy except for the leukemia virus and is in
good shape. She’s a bit shy by nature, but
really likes attention and affection. When
you’ve won her trust, she’ll gladly let you pet
her and will show off her favorite feline yoga
move, the popular “elevator butt”.
Over the years Vienna has become
a favorite of Sheila and Dr. Smith - after all,
not only does she cozy up with them on the couch
when they're reading or watching TV, but she
sleeps on the bed with them too. She's
come quite a long way from barely surviving that
terrible hoarding situation in the Nevada
desert, and her life now with us at the
sanctuary is a testament to our mission to try
and help all the cats in our care live the lives
they truly deserve. And if you asked
Vienna...we think she'd agree that, especially
for her, we've done pretty well!
