Titus was trapped in a local community cat
colony during kitten season in the spring of
2010. As
part of the normal veterinary checks he was
tested for the feline leukemia virus and came up
positive. That’s pretty bad luck for a kitten –
but then, it’s pretty good luck that he was
already under the care of Shadow Cats, so he
just moved right into the sanctuary and joined
the other FeLV cats in Cookie’s Place.
Kittens born with the feline leukemia virus have
a pretty rough road ahead of them, and
unfortunately many often have difficulty making
it through their first year. Titus is one of the
lucky ones, though – it’s been a pleasure to
watch him grow from a playful little kitten into
the handsome, strong cat he is today.
Titus and Benji became great pals as kittens -
check out the video of them at the left.
These days they spend a lot of time on the
outdoor deck watching the birds and squirrels in
the trees just out of reach.
Titus
began his life on shaky ground....but thanks to
Shadow Cats he's getting the chance to live the
life he truly deserves, in a safe, fun, and
loving environment at our sanctuary. And
he's taking full advantage of every minute of
it!
