If Pebbles is not ready for affection then I respect that, yet I want her to know that from a distance someone is thinking of her.  And she reminds me of one of my own, Dingo, who arrived as a feral cat and stayed.  Dingo has cancer now, and I am happy to have given her a good life and wish the same for Pebbles  --Dori Naef--

One thing that can be a bit frustrating for Sanctuary volunteers is to see a gorgeous girl like Pebbles every day and want to hold and cuddle her……but she just won’t let you get within five feet of her. That’s not at all uncommon for cats who come from feral backgrounds, or have just spent time having to fend for themselves and always be on guard.

So we just let her be – we’re all about letting our cats live life on their own terms, and right now for Pebbles that’s a life without human touch. But time and time again, we’ve seen cats slowly come around and eventually let themselves discover the joys of being petted and held. We have all the time and patience in the world. But one day, Pebbles…
