I have 2 sponsors!
I
am so very happy Shadow Cats Rescue found you
and are giving you love and care. You are
a beautiful kitty, you remind me of my first
orange tabby named Hobbes, who would have been
happy to know I am sponsoring you. Love
and kisses to you, Niles. --Kacee

Niles
Born 9/28/05
Sometimes you
don’t need everything to go right, just one
thing will do. Niles was abandoned. He had been
declawed, and a cat trying to live on his own
with no claws is at an extreme disadvantage,
unable to hunt or defend himself effectively. To
top it off, he was also struggling with
hyperthyroidism – perhaps what led to his
abandonment by his former owners.
However…Niles just happened to
be abandoned in the neighborhood not far from
the sanctuary, and Shadow Cats found him. He
needed surgery and radiation treatments, but
with Dr. Smith’s expert care, he’s doing better
now. He’s still in the neighborhood, but now
he’s looking out the windows while enjoying the
companionship of his sanctuary buddies and the
affection of all the volunteers who stop by and
spend time with him. Niles got an ear infection
that caused his right ear to crumple up a bit,
but he’s so handsome in this older picture that
we just had to show it off. No one notices
his ears anyway with those big soulful eyes!
One of our volunteers has nicknamed him Puss in
Boots, so if we ever have a Halloween party at
the sanctuary we know what Niles' costume will
be. All Niles needed was
just one thing…Shadow Cats!
