Nephertiti was living the feral life when she
was trapped as a young kitten in Waco. Usually,
a young feral kitten can be socialized and
successfully placed in an adoptive home and go
on to a long happy life as a house cat. But Nephertiti had several health issues – a heart
murmer and some sinus problems – that made her a
poor candidate for adoption.
Fortunately for her, those same problems made
her a perfect candidate for Shadow Cats! She
came to live in the Outback section of the
sanctuary, with all the good features of her old
life but none of the disadvantages. She has lots
of playmates, and plenty of places to hide out
by herself when she wants to. If she’s feeling
social, almost every day there are volunteers
who are ready to sweet talk her and offer their
lap. Most importantly, she gets all the
attention and medical care she needs.
