I am so very happy to sponsor you. When I
saw your picture you filled my heart with your
beauty and personality. Even though we may
be miles apart, know that I love you and am so
proud to be your sponsor. I hope someday I
can visit you in person!

Luna
Born 11/2/98
At Shadow Cats we
make a lifetime commitment to every cat. Even if
they are adopted, it’s with the understanding
that if for any reason their new home doesn’t
work out, then they will be returned to us. Some
people, though, put their own embarrassment over
their cat’s welfare. Luna was adopted as a young
cat and went, with much joy, to what everyone
thought would be her forever home.
But one day her
adoptive parent, for whatever reason, just
dumped Luna outdoors and then later moved away.
A good Samaritan recognized her wandering
around, trapped her, and returned her to Shadow
Cats.
It took Luna a while to trust people again when
she came back to us – and who can blame her?
These days she lives in Nana’s Corner. She’s
getting older, and developed stomatitis, which
gave her a sore mouth and resulted in having all
her teeth removed. But under Dr. Smith’s expert
care she is thriving now, sleek and even a bit
pudgy. She loves to sit in your lap if you let
her jump up there. While we can’t control the
future for any cat, at Shadow Cats each little
angel we take in is the start of a lifetime
relationship. Come what may, they will always at
least be assured of having a safe, loving spot
here at the sanctuary. And that’s not such a bad
deal!
