Juno                                       Born 9/24/04

You may have seen a story in the Austin newspaper recently about yet another terrible cat hoarding situation that didn’t end well. Sadly, these things happen from time to time – someone starts out with good intentions but at some point things get completely out of hand. And when they do, and Animal Control steps in to take all of the cats out of that situation, rescue groups throughout the area try to all pitch in and do what they can to help the cats lucky enough to be saved. Juno was one of those cats.

We don’t know where Juno originally came from, or how long she lived with the hoarder who took her in. But when all the cats who were rescued were given medical checkups Juno turned out to be feline leukemia positive, which gave her almost no options for places to go. So even though we were really full at the sanctuary, how could we say no to a cat who had been through so much? Juno is very friendly, and after a few days in isolation to make sure she didn’t have any other health issues, she settled into Cookie’s Place and hopefully will soon forget about the hard times in her past. She’ll have lots of companionship – both feline and human – and a safe, loving environment where she’ll be able to live the kind of life she truly deserves.
