I have 2 sponsors!
Jodie is the cutest torti ever and I love torties!!! I am going to sponsor this doll in memory of my love, Chuy. I wanted him to live with me, but with his illness, he was in the best possible place, as is Jodie.

I'm so proud to sponsor this beautiful kitty!  Any friend of sweet little Taffy is a friend of mine.  Jodie, I promise to love you and pray for you.  I hope to get to meet you someday and tell you in person just how beautiful you are.                   --Kathy Humann--

Jodie                            Born 5/1/11

We work closely with the Austin Humane Society in support of the TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Return) program in our area. Most of the spays and neuters of feral cats are done through an AHS program. When feral cats with kittens are trapped, the kittens are usually able to be socialized and put into the AHS adoption program after a period of foster care. But during her fostering little Jodie tested positive for the feline leukemia virus.

There aren’t many options for an FeLV+ kitty…..and she was just a tiny little thing so we found space for her at the sanctuary.  But this little tortie has a BIG personality – it’s become clear as she grows up that she is a classic example of “tortitude”. She’s all settled in and wants to explore everything and play with everyone.  Jodie started out very tiny, but she has really grown up quickly and is now a full sized, long haired lustrous beauty.  Being born with feline leukemia is a tough break for a little kitten…but this one’s luck just changed for the better. At the sanctuary she’ll have a safe, loving environment and lots of playmates to help her live the life she truly deserves.

A feisty girl like this would most often live in Cookie's Place....but Jodie quickly became a favorite of Sheila and Dr. Smith so she's one of the lucky few who live in the bedroom and sunroom area.  Most of the kitties in there are pretty calm, and enjoy the quiet and especially being able to come sit on the couch and curl up when Sheila and Dr. Smith are relaxing in the sunroom after a long day.  And we all know how nice it is to relax with a calm kitty curled up on your lap, or purring away on your shoulder.  Jodie, on the other hand, is much more likely to be the one who comes screaming across the room and leaps on them from behind.  She may look sweet, calm, and innocent in this photo but remember.....she's a tortie through and through!
