Ginny                                Born 12/17/06

Ginny was found several years ago during a trap, neuter and return operation at a local feral colony. But when she was tested for the feline leukemia virus and turned up positive, the “return” part was no longer an option, so she came to live at our sanctuary. Most of our FeLV kitties live in Cookie’s Place, where you can watch them on the KittyCam. But a few are very shy and don’t do well in a large group environment. So those cats live in the bedroom / sunroom area, where it’s much quieter and calmer and there are plenty of places – like under the bed – where they can run and hide if they want to.

Ginny is really shy around people, but otherwise is very comfortable and relaxed here. You’ll often see her in the sunroom sleeping on the couch, or on a bedroom chair. But if you walk into the room she’ll almost always run and hide. A few longtime volunteers have managed to pet her once or twice, but those times have been very rare. In fact, if this picture looks a little odd it’s because she’s crouched behind the couch – it was just about the only picture we could get of her awake! But not every cat is a lap cat, and we’ll do everything we can to give Ginny as much TLC as she wants and help her to live the life she deserves, on her own terms.
