This is the original Darby, the house cat. She
came from the Round Rock feral colony, spent
some time at the sanctuary, and was adopted.
Later an almost identical cat came in, and it
was only logical to name her…. Darby. Then this
sweetheart came back as an adoption return when
her owner became seriously ill, so now there are
two and they are almost twins. The other Darby
lives in the Uptown area.
Darby seems to have appointed herself the
unofficial sanctuary greeter. She’ll usually be
hanging out near the front door when you come
in, and will immediately start angling for
attention. Darby also has the endearing trait of
following you when you go into the office,
bathroom, or Cookie's Place and will often be
waiting for you right outside the door when you
emerge, hoping for some more loving. She knows
that if she can just get you to pet her once and
feel how incredibly soft her fur is, you’ll be
hooked!
