Everyone can remember a girl from high school
who was a little wild, did some foolish things,
and then got stuck with a bad reputation even
after she had changed her ways. Well, Darby is
that girl. A while back she just happened to
bite a couple of hands – nothing too serious,
and after all, they were children who probably
didn’t know how to treat her – but she got the
unfortunate label of “biter”. At the sanctuary,
that means every new person who comes to visit
the cats gets warned about you, which makes them
very reluctant to hold and pet you. Bad enough
that she became “Darby 2” when her namesake, the
original Darby, came back as an adoption return.
But now her name was on a warning sign on the
Uptown wall and people seemed to avoid her.
What’s a girl to do?
