I have 2 sponsors!
As soon as I saw Avery I knew I had to sponsor him. He looks just like my boy Turk, another big, handsome black kitty.

Avery                     Born 4/15/06

It’s common practice when TNR’ing (that’s trap, neuter and return for you rookies) feral cats to grab a mama and all her kittens together. Often mama gets spayed and returned to the colony because she’s too used to the feral life and really prefers it. But young kittens are easily socialized, and so usually are able to be placed in adoptive homes. That was the case with Avery’s mama and all of his brothers and sisters a few years ago. Mom went back to the Round Rock colony that was her home, and all of the kittens were adopted……except Avery.

Now that he’s all grown up, it’s easy to see that somebody really missed the boat! Not that his siblings weren’t cute too, but just look at him now. He’s big, beautiful, and even though he lost out in the kitten adoption sweepstakes he seems pretty happy living in the Uptown section of the sanctuary. He has lots of pals, and while he’s not a gregarious lap cat he’ll probably come rub on your legs in a more subtle attempt to get your attention…so if you’re passing through Uptown, be sure to give him some!

I'm so happy to be able to sponsor Avery. I have a soft spot in my heart for big boys and black cats. He fits both! And, when I came to visit my first sponsoree, Elliott, Avery made himself right at home, next to me, in the bed I brought for Elliott. That's when I knew I would have to add Avery to my sponsoree list of kitties at SC and the Central Texas SPCA. Thanks for giving him and all the other cats a safe, loving, comfortable home!   --Jeanette Cacciola--
