Allie didn’t have an elegant start in life – she
was a kitten living the feral life behind a
7-Eleven near a local mall. With all the growth
and development in that area, it had become a
pretty dicey proposition trying to eke out a
living there, so she and several others came to
live in the Outback section of our sanctuary.
She was a cute young cat, but not very social, so
she never found an adoptive home.
Other than that, though, Allie’s
luck has been terrific. No more dumpster diving
for her – now it’s an assortment of food and
water bowls that are always refilled, maid
service, lots of interesting things to do and
see, plenty of playmates, and volunteers who
visit her regularly. Like a lot of formerly
feral cats, she’s somewhat shy, but has
definitely become more comfortable around
people. Once in a while we’re able to pet her a
little. And who knows…maybe that special
someone will look at her one day and say, “You’re
the one!”
