Pretty Boy                         Born 4/17/03

If you’re a cat living in a feral colony, life can be just fine. But over time, there can be a number of reasons why you aren’t able to live there any more – health problems, unsafe colony conditions, or a host of other issues. But if you’re living in a colony that Shadow Cats cares for, there are always guardian angels (also known as feeders and trappers) watching out for you. And if you can’t make it on your own any more in your colony, you’ll probably wind up at the sanctuary.

That’s where Pretty Boy is now, having spent the first part of his life in a feral colony at a nearby church. He’s still very much a feral cat – but now he’s living safely and comfortably in the Outback, where he has become quite at home. Because of his feral nature, he’s not comfortable around people and usually stays hidden or hangs out far out of reach in high places. But that’s just fine with us, because our mission is to give him just what he needs to live life on his own terms. The Outback has plenty of nooks and crannies for reclusive cats like Pretty Boy, and they have the security of a safe, loving environment where there’s always someone looking after them – in Pretty Boy’s case, from a distance.
