I am so very happy to sponsor you. When I
saw your picture you filled my heart with your
beauty and personality. Even though we may
be miles apart, know that I love you and am so
proud to be your sponsor. I hope someday I
can visit you in person!

Madeleine
Born 5/31/04
If you ever go to Las Vegas , you
might want to pet Madeleine first for
luck…..she’s been pretty successful at beating
long odds. She was with a litter of kittens at a
local colony who were successfully trapped. But
Madeleine was very sick with bad infections in
both eyes and wouldn’t go into the trap. It’s
especially difficult to see a sick or injured
feral cat and not be able to trap them in order
to get them the care that they desperately need.
Somehow, Sheila was able to
corner her and pick her up – no easy feat with a
ten-week-old scared and hurting feral kitten.
Madeleine stayed sick for a long time, but
finally after lengthy medical treatment, she
spent six months in a foster home, recovering
and becoming somewhat socialized.
Like many feral cats, especially ones who’ve
been through any kind of trauma, Madeline is
very shy around people. But that’s no problem in
the Outback section of the sanctuary, where we
understand cats like her and have the perfect
place for her to live just the way she wants to.
These days she’s completely healthy, absolutely
gorgeous, and – as we’ve just discovered
recently when she decided to let herself be
petted occasionally – very soft and lustrous.
When Madeleine and Shadow Cats came together, we
both got lucky!
