Camping Cats from Canada!

We got some new neighbors at the campsite next door – some cats who came all the way from Saskatchewan!  Their names are Kiki and Loki and they have a really neat RV.  It’s a little van, and their Mom and Dad have made lots of changes to it so that they can all go camping together and have a great time.

The coolest thing is the penthouse deck.  They have a sturdy metal cage that they fasten onto the roof when they’re parked, and there’s a little kitty door up inside the top of the van so Kiki and Loki and go out and sit in the sun and see the park.  I want one of those!  They get to go outside too, on big long leashes.

Their Mom and Dad have to share the bathroom with them just like in our trailer.  Theirs is even smaller than ours – no bathtub – so their Dad built a box on the bathroom floor with a cover for their litter box.  There’s always a way to fit your cats in if you’re just willing to compromise a little!

Kiki is kind of heavy and has trouble jumping and climbing, so they built a ramp inside the van so she can get all the way up to the kitty door at the top to get out onto the deck.  Loki likes to hang out on the dashboard and watch everyone go by.  Mom always tries to stay out of pictures, but if you look right next to Loki’s chin on the dashboard you can see her in the back of the van with Loki’s Mom  ;o)
