Mom and Dad
took us out to the trailer to get ready for a
really big camping trip – all the way to
Montana! They said we were going to someplace
called Glacier National Park with mountains and
snow, and it’s really far away. The first few
days of the trip were not very fun, though –
none of us like driving all day long, and it was
really hot in the beginning. And even though we
seemed to stop in nice spots, the next day we’d
get up and drive all day again.
Mom and Dad made sure there were enough cozy cat
beds and places for each of us to ride…but Cairo
decided that he really wanted Romeo’s cottage.
Since Cairo is so young and still gets scared,
Mom and Dad let him keep it and asked Romeo to
ride in a different spot. Romeo didn’t like that
one bit, because that’s been his spot for ten
years and it’s the biggest cottage, and the
first day he peed on the bed! Even though he’s
gone on lots of trips, Romeo still seems to
really hate the driving part – he threw up too,
just like he does every time he goes to the vet
in the car. Then a couple of days later he peed
on the couch, and on the bed again, and Mom was
really mad.
So Mom and Dad decided to take Cairo in the
truck with them on driving days for a while so
Romeo could have his special cottage back. That
made him happy, and I know Mom and Dad are
really glad they don’t have to keep spending
every night at the laundromat. Now Cairo knows
he’s not allowed to go in Romeo’s cottage,
although he still looks fondly at it once in a
while.
Except for the driving part we all really like
camping. As soon as we stop for the night, Mom
opens the screen door so we can look outside and
see and smell our new campsite. Then the next
day we get up drive, drive, drive...I can’t wait
to get to Montana!
