We used to
have a birdfeeder outside the dining room window
that attracted lots of colorful but tiny little
birds. But after hearing about how much fun the
cats in Cookie’s Place at the sanctuary had with
all the big doves who come to their feeder I
asked Dad to get us one…and he did!
This feeder has big seeds in it and sometimes a
couple of great big doves climb all over it. Dad
hung it so it’s right outside the window. Tiger
Lily, Cairo and I love to sit on the big
windowsill and wait for the birds to come.
Sometimes they sit in the branches of a big tree
just past the feeder and that’s almost as good.
Cairo is really funny – he gets really upset
when the birds are all in the tree and he
quivers and shakes all over and makes these
funny little squeaky sounds.
We can even see the bird feeder when we’re all
the way over in the living room – sometimes
we’ll see a big bird come over and we’ll all go
running into the dining room and jump up on the
windowsill. The windowsill is one of my favorite
spots for my afternoon nap….but lately it’s been
hard to sleep with so much excitement going on
just outside the window!
