Name:  Chappie
DOB:  May 2003

Chappie started out life as a feral cat.  She was trapped by someone, either for neutering or medical treatment that she may have needed, and apparently was so adorable that they decided to keep her at home for just a bit.  However, she adapted to life as a house cat so quickly that it became obvious that she no longer had the skills or behaviors to survive back in the feral lifestyle.

So, once again, Shadow Cats to the rescue!  Chappie is now happily settled into the Uptown section of the sanctuary, where it’s obvious that she really prefers life as a domestic cat.  She used to be somewhat interested in people but still too shy to be held.  Lately, though, she has decided that she likes being petted so much that on occasion she’ll climb right into your lap, and she always has lots to say.  At the rate she’s going, in a few more months she’ll decide that curling up and taking a nap in your lap is just what she always wanted.  And lucky for her, there are lots of volunteers at the sanctuary who will be happy to oblige!
